Bichette suffered the injury ahead of Monday's series opener against the Yankees. He stepped on a ball during warm-ups, causing the pain.
Manager John Schneider said ahead of Wednesday's contest that Bichette is "feeling better than he did yesterday" and will try to warm up, adding that he hopes he's available off the bench if needed, but that his status is still to be determined.
No Bo Bichette again for the Blue Jays but manager John Schneider said his shortstop is «feeling better today than he did yesterday.»
«He's going through a little bit more of a regular day and the hope would be that he'd be available today (off the bench) if we need him.»
On Tuesday, the Blue Jays were optimistic Bichette would not miss much time, saying no further tests were planned.
Starting at shortstop and batting sixth for Toronto will be Ernie Clement.
Bichette has enjoyed a solid bounce-back year for the Blue Jays, batting .272 with a .738 OPS, 11 home runs and 49 RBIs.
The Blue Jays (47-38) will go for a third straight win against the Yankees (48-37) as they look to move into a first-place tie in the American League East.
