Blue Jays' leadoff hitter George beat out Yandy Diaz of the Tampa Bay Rays and Brent Rooker of the Athletics.
A year after hitting .220 and posting a .674 OPS, George Springer has won the AL Silver Slugger at DH. Quite the comeback season for the Blue Jays veteran.
KING SPRING 👑 George wins his third #SilverSlugger Award!
Springer has already been named a Silver Slugger twice in his lucrative career, but this is his first since 2019 and since joining the Blue Jays.
Springer has now joined J.D. Martinez of the Boston Red Sox in 2018 as the only MLB players to win two at different positions.
He was also nominated for the award at outfield, which was won by Yankees captain Aaron Judge, Minnesota Twins' Byron Buxton, and Detroit Tigers' Riley Greene.
Springer, even while playing hurt, remained one of the Blue Jays' best hitters from the regular season, where he led the team in home runs (32), SLG (.560), stolen bases (18) and wRC+ (166), all in his age-35 season into the post-season.
Over 16 playoff games, the right-handed slugger hit four home runs, including his series-clinching blast in Game 7 of the ALCS and drove in 10 runs, slashing .284/.347/.552 with a 147 wRC+.
The 36-year-old DH, coming off one of the top offensive performances of his 12-year MLB career, will be entering the final season of his six-year, $150-million contract with the franchise in 2026.
Bo Bichette nominated for Silver Slugger as well
Bo Bichette was nominated for the award at shortstop but was beaten out by the Royals' Bobby Witt Jr. Bichette had a bounce-back season in 2025 after struggling with injuries for much of 2024.
The 27-year-old tied a career-high with a .311 batting average and had an OPS of .840 over 139 games, his highest mark since his 46-game rookie campaign (.930) in 2019.
Bichette finished second in the American League in total hits (181), three behind Witt Jr., despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee injury. He finished the season with 18 home runs, 94 RBI, and 78 runs scored in 139 games.
The Yankees won the Team Silver Slugger award, beating out the Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners.
