The Toronto Blue Jays are currently leading the San Diego Padres with a 7-0 lead however Anthony Santander was taken out of the game with a hip injury.

Santander has been a rough stretch to start the 2025 season as he cannot seem to find any consistency at the plate and now this hip injury which has been bothering him for a little while now does not seem to help.

The Blue Jays will finally get a series win under their belt for the first time in a while if they can keep this 7-0 lead but unfortunately something bad still happened as Anthony Santander went down with an injury and had to leave the game.
News broke moments ago on X that the reason that Jonatan Clase pinch hit for Santander was because he was removed from the game with left hip inflammation which is something that has been bothering him since last week.
Jonatan Clase replaces Anthony Santander as a pinch-hitter. Blue Jays leading 5-0. Santander has been dealing with left hip and shoulder soreness FWIW.
Anthony Santander was removed with left hip inflammation, #BlueJays tell us.

That's been bothering him the last few days.
The curious: Anthony Santander was just pinch-hit for here with the bases loaded in the 7th.

The good: Jonatan Clase ripped a two-run double. #BlueJays
Hopefully Santander will not be out too long but it looks like it might not be great since he has been in pain for a few days now.
