The Canadian baseball world received some devastating news as young baseball prospect Jesse Lubiniecki tragically passed away in a car accident Friday.
News broke last night that Canadian baseball pitcher Jesse Lubiniecki passed away in a car accident in Montana as he was headed back to Regina from Taft, California where he currently goes to school.
According to Sportsnet's Jamie Campbell Lubiniecki died Friday while returning home to play for the Regina Red Sox of the Western Canadian Baseball League.

According to the Red Sox, Lubiniecki was travelling back to Regina from his sophomore season at Taft Community College in California on Friday when he was involved in a single-vehicle rollover in Rosebud Country, Montana.
«The Red Sox organization would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his parents, Noel and Kim, and his brothers, Luke, Layne and Fiancée Cathy,» the Red Sox said in a statement. «We will play out the season with #33 in our hearts.»
Lubiniecki just finished up his sophomore season at Taft College and was headed back for the summer to play for the Regina Red Sox.
Last month, Taft College Baseball posted on social media that Lubiniecki was «taking his talents to South Beach» after signing a letter of intent with Florida National University in Miami.
The entire baseball community mourns this devastating news and wishes his entire family their condolences.
