The baseball world is getting to know the Blue Jays broadcasting team.

Denis Casavant and Karl Gelinas, the Blue Jays French language broadcasting team on station TVA, have once again gone viral for their spirited, enthusiastic calls, particularly Addison Barger's grand slam in Game 1.
Even for Anglophone Canadians, whose French has been lost to time, the vocal timbre, as well the general inflection of the Quebecois accent, makes Casavant's legendary calls enjoyable for the whole nation.
The French call has even been reposted on social media by Jomboy Media.
The French call of Addison Barger's Grand Slam
For his part Casavant, who used to call Montreal Expos games, is revelling in every second of the Blue Jays postseason.
You can't ask for more. There are six games left potentially in this World Series and I ask, 'How can another one be better than what we've had so far?'t's been incredible to call those games. For me, this is the closest that I am to broadcasting an Expos World Series game. In 1994, we were never able to finish the season with the strike, so this is probably the closest I can be to that moment, to have your hometown team or your home country team be this close to winning the World Series.

His most recent claim to viral fame is his call of Addison Barger's grand slam that nearly blew the roof off Rogers Centre on Friday.
Casavant's longtime on-air partner Roger Brulotte, who is currently recovering from surgery, has also received his fair share of viral fame, especially for rousing call of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s walk-off home run during a Spring Training game played in Montreal in 2018.

French language broadcasts are important part of baseball in Canada

Although the Expos ceased operations 20 years ago, French language broadcasts are still an integral part of baseball in Canada.
For Casavant and Gelinas, they're hoping to call games for as long as they can.
