It's been 10 years since the Blue Jays' last division title the same year as Bautista's iconic bat flip.
As they await the Yankees-Red Sox winner Blue Jays legend Jose Bautista shares his thoughts on this year's team and overcoming
Bo Bichette's injury.
Sportsnet 590's Bob Ennis asked Bautista how hard will it be for the Blue Jays to to win the ALDS without Bo Bichette's presence in the lineup and what will they have to do going forward.
"Great teams figure out a way to win, to step up and people have. You have to try and not do extra and do your part and that will be good enough. Bo's contributions this year are suddenly irreplaceable and they are going to miss him, but that also provides an opportunity for someone to step up and pick up the body of work that he was able to put in. It's not going to be easy, it's a challenge and a task, but that's how great moments and great people are born. If that is the genesis for someone on that roster this year so be it."
Bautista explains how a knee injury like Bichette's impacts your ability to hit
Having the same injury during his playing days, Bautista shares his thoughts on how a knee sprain will effect Bichette's ability to hit in the postseason.
"It does effect your hitting, not as much as you'd like to admit, I'm sure he is going to say he is fine and I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to get on the roster for some sort of playoff run. Realistically he will be very limited to what he can do running wise and people may not think it matters, but when you hit you got to be out of the box in less than a second it matters. If he feels good enough, I could see him in a pinch hit situation in a big moment that could impact your team."

Also discussed was who Bautista hopes to see the Blue Jays face in the playoffs
As for who the Blue Jays will face from the winner of the Yankees/Red Sox wild card series, Bautista stated that he has no preference who they face but it would be "a little extra spicy with the Yankees, but the Red Sox are not a bad second."
"I'm expecting a packed house at Rogers Centre, the fans going bananas, the energy being high and the guys feeding off it."
