When asked who he felt should get more publicity on the Blue Jays, Buck Martinez didn't hesitate with his answer.
The longtime Blue Jays broadcast appeared on a SportsNet Fan 590 show hosted by Ailish Forfar and Justin Cuthbert, when Forfar, talking about how the Blue Jays don't often receive national coverage in the United States, posed the question about which Blue Jay deserves to more known.
While there plenty of choices: Ernie Clement, Nathan Lukes, Davis Schneider, Martinez instead decided to heap praise on Toronto's manager, the man who he says keeps it all together.
Everything you mentioned about the complimentary players, is a result of John Schneider
He's become a heck of a manager in a really short time."

Everybody knows their role. As Martinez stated, whenever somebody gets summoned from the minors, Schneider does a good job of getting them into a game right away.
He'd put that guy in the game immediately. Nobody every sat around wondering what their role was on the team
Martinez says everyone on Blue Jays is on the same page, praises complimentary players like Myles Straw and Tyler Heineman
While he was singing Schneider's praises, Martinez was also to single out guys like Myles Straw and Tyler Heineman, both of whom were afterthoughts entering Spring Training but who have become key contributors for Toronto this season.
Buck explains how it's become a team effort, noting that an opposing team can't shut down all nine guys at once.
