A key member of the 2025 Toronto Blue Jays is moving on.

Seranthony Dominguez has officially signed a two year, $20MM contract with the Chicago White Sox. The deal was initially announced last week.
In addition to his base pay, Dominguez will receive a $1MM signing bonus. Additionally, he will be paid $7MM this year, and $10MM in 2027. There is a $2MM buyout on his option, which is valued at $12MM.
In a corresponding move, infielder Bryan Ramos was designated for assignment.
The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Seranthony Dominguez on a two-year, $20-million contract which includes a $1-million signing bonus and mutual option for the 2028 season. To make room for Dominguez on the 40-man roster, the White Sox designated infielder Bryan Ramos for assignment.
In news that wasn't previously known, Dominguez - who spent a good chunk of 2025 as a set-up man for the Blue Jays - is expected to serve as the White Sox' closer.
While he has spent most of his career in either a set-up or middle relief role, Dominguez does have 40 career saves.
After starting the 2025 season with the Baltimore Orioles, Dominguez was traded to the Blue Jays in the middle of a series between the two teams. After crossing the field from the visitor's dugout to the home side just off third base, he made his debut later that night against his former team.
Throughout the season, he became a trusted member of the back-end of the bullpen, though he ended up being used less in the ALCS and World Series after giving up a home run in a couple of key spots.

Dominguez gets the chance to anchor a re-building team

While the White Sox are not the Blue Jays, it's an interesting opportunity for Dominguez who not only gets to close, but also has the chance to anchor a re-building team.
With his re-tooled arsenal, he should fare well in the ninth inning.
