For Blue Jays, one question remains: who will start in centre

Now that the Blue Jays 26-man roster is set, there is just one final question to answer as the transition to opening day begins: who will man centre field?
Reigning Gold Glove winner
Daulton Varsho Varsho will start the year on the IL, as he looks to regain his throwing strength following off-season rotator cuff surgery.
The Blue Jays had expected this from the get-go and clearly have several contingency plans in place. Still, it was surprising to see six outfielders on the final roster.
As things stand, the Blue Jays have four options to fill the void from Varsho's injury.
Myles Straw is the most athletic and natural centre fielder and is a Gold Glove winner himself.
Nathan Lukes can play all three positions and has experience in centre at the major league level.
While
Alan Roden is more of a corner outfielder, he did get a few innings in centre during spring training and John Schneider has said that team is comfortable with him there.
Then there is
George Springer. The former everyday centre fielder has played almost exclusively right field for the last couple of seasons, although he did start the final game of spring training in his old spot. While he might play there occasionally, it feels like the Jays will rely on the others more.
Although this will be an ever-changing situation based on matchups and overall defensive alignment, it feels like Lukes has the edge on the opening day nod. Straw did have a strong spring offensively, but it feels like he would be a late inning defensive replacement with the occasional start.

When Varsho comes back, this all goes away of course, and he will be in centre everyday. Until then, the Blue Jays have options.
