For Myles Straw, the Toronto Blue Jays come before besties.

That's why, for the duration of the ALCS, he is putting his friendship with Josh Naylor.
Naylor and Straw were teammates for several years when both played for the Cleveland Guardians.

Earlier in the year, when Naylor was still with the Arizona Dimaondbacks, he visited the Rogers Centre and sent a deep fly ball to centre field. Straw, who was filling in for Daulton Varsho at the time, went back and end up falling awkwardly on his ankle. After reaching second base, Naylor asked for time and jogged out to centre, seeing if his friend was okay.
Naylor is the man. I love Nayls forever. He was one of the best teammates I played with, for sure. I talked to him in the offseason all the time. I actually went to his baby shower throughout the season here while we were in Toronto. That was pretty cool to be a part of that.

Straw isn't the only friend Naylor - who is native of Mississauga - has on the team. During his time in Cleveland, Ernie Clement, Andres Gimenez and Nick Sandlin also suited up for the team.

Naylor, well-liked by Canadian baseball fans, will be the enemy this week

Naylor has long been a well-liked figure among Canadian baseball fans. The eldest of three, his two brothers Bo and Myles are also baseball players, Bo with Cleveland while Myles is in the Athletics organization.
However this week, Canadians will have to root against one of their own as they hope to see the Blue Jays make their first trip to the World Series since 1993.
