Earlier, Bohrofen, who plays in Double-A for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, was named Player of the Week for the Eastern League.
The 21-year old Venezuelan deserves it too after going 8-20 with doubles, one home run, seven runs scored, four RBIs, and five walks.
He started off the week with a three-hit game on April 15th, then added two each in the next two games. He hit first High-A home run on April 18th.
So far on the season, Arias is slashing 283/.397/.434 with an .831 OPS, five doubles, a homer, eight runs scored, seven RBI, nine walks and five steals in six chances this year.
He also currently has a nine-game hit streak, which is the highest on the Canadians roster, and is near the top of the League's leaderboard in hits, doubles, extra base hits, total bases and steals.
Despite his age, Arias has been in Blue Jays system for while. He was initially signed as an International Free Agent on August 24, 2019, which happened to be his 16th birthday, the earliest possible date he could have signed.
Not much over the next couple of years as the waited for Arias to age up but he eventually reached Dunedin in 2023. He also had a brief cameo with New Hampshire later that year.
He was promoted to Vancouver from Dunedin late last season. He'll likely spend the rest of the year with the Canadians, but could in theory move up to Double-A.
He could crack a major league roster in just a couple years' time.
