Bohrofen absolutely crushed it during New Hampshire's most recent home stand. Over six games, Bohrofen led Eastern League hitters with 21 total bases, four home runs and nine runs batted in against Harrisburg. Having played in all six games, Bohrofen slashed .346/.393/.808 behind a 1.201 against the Senators.
Bohrofen is the first Fisher Cats position player to win Player of the Week since Will Robertson did so in July 2023. Pitchers CJ Van Eyk and Michael Dominguez both did so in May and June of last year.
A native of Oklahoma City, Bohrofen was selected in the sixth round by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2023. A member of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks, Bohrofen played in all 60 games in his final college season, slugging 16 home runs and driving in 52 runs.
He spent his first full professional season with High-A Vancouver and led the team in total bases (177), doubles (27), home runs (14), runs batted in (57) and walks (60) in 116 games.
While his average is only .255, and has 17 strikeouts in 47 at-bats compared to just three walks, his power is unparalleled.
The fact that he was drafted in 2023 and is already in Double-A, shows how quickly Bohrofen is developing. It is not inconceivable that he winds up in Buffalo by year's end.
The Blue Jays, who are struggling to hit home runs, could use Bohrofen's power stroke. Who knows, maybe he will force their hand.
