The Atlanta Braves (4-11) come to Rogers Centre to take on the Toronto Blue Jays (9-7) in a three game set. Blue Jays lefty Easton Lucas is on the bump versus Braves starter Grant Holmes this evening. First pitch is at 7:07 PM on Sportsnet, SN1, TVA Sports and FanDuel Sports South and FanDual Sports South East.

George Springer exited yesterdays game against the Orioles in the fifth inning after tweaking his left wrist during his at-bat in the top of the frame.
Springer (wrist) underwent X-rays, which came back negative, on his left wrist following Sunday's 7-6 win over the Orioles, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.
The outfielder is considered day-to-day for the time being, and he seems to have avoided a significant injury ahead of Toronto's three-game set today with Atlanta.

SP Easton Lucas

Easton Lucas gets the ball today for the Jays. Impressive as he was over five shutout innings against Washington in his first big-league start , Lucas was even better on a teeth-chattering frigid night at Fenway Park, striking out eight over 5.1 shutout innings in a 6-1 win over the Boston Red Sox.
Sportsnet's Shi Davidi caught up with Lucas and manager John Schneider on tuesday to discuss the left-handers success in his first two starts as a Blue Jay.
In what seemed like a mismatch against ace lefty Garrett Crochet, Lucas again stepped up to meet the moment, bullying Red Sox hitters with fastballs at the top of the zone before killing them softly with changeups, sliders and sweepers down.
And the 28-year-old, claimed on waivers from Detroit last August and used regularly as a starter at triple-A for the first time since 2019, looked like a rotation staple while doing it.
«You hope it's one of those feel-good stories, right?» said manager John Schneider. «He's done a really good job of taking advantage of every resource available and understanding, at this point in his career, how his stuff works and really how good he can be."
«I've said it before, we've liked him since the first time we saw him. He's got a little bit of momentum and he's running with it. It happens at different times for people. You don't want to put the cart before the horse, but I think he's in a really good spot right now.»

Reynaldo Lopez gets the ball for the Atlanta braves this evening. In his last outing Holmes completed four scoreless innings against Philadelphia, allowing three hits and issuing four walks while striking out six batters in a no-decision.
There were definitely positives to take away from Holmes' performance, as he notched 12 whiffs enroute to six punchouts while holding the Phillies scoreless.
However, the right-hander was very inefficient -- he needed 104 pitches to get through four innings due in part to issuing four free passes.
Holmes has struggled with his control early in the campaign, handing out eight walks across his first nine innings, though he's also racked up 11 strikeouts in that span.
His inability to complete more than four innings in his first two starts (he also has a one-inning relief appearance) isn't promising, but Holmes will likely stick in the rotation even when Spencer Strider (elbow) returns to the big-league club on Wednesday, given Reynaldo Lopez is set for an extended absence after undergoing shoulder surgery Tuesday.
Also It's Vladdy Day at Rogers Centre today.
We'll hear from Guerrero and others in a press conference beginning at 1:00pm ET.
